MAZDAUSA.COM WINS ‘BEST OF SHOW’
AT ORANGE COUNTY’s FIRST ‘eWARDS’ GALA
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Oct. 20, 2000 –
Mazdausa.com was hailed as the best Orange County Web site in the 1st
Annual Orange County eWards Gala on Thursday, Oct. 19 in Newport Beach.
Mazdausa.com received the “Best of Show” eWard in the competition, and
nine other Web sites received awards in various categories.
Judging was based on six criteria: design
aesthetics, content, technical innovation, functionality, interactivity,
and user experience.

The eWards were conceived by Web site
developer Lisa Rubenstein as an opportunity to showcase Orange County’s
growing technology sector. Rubenstein is the founder and president of
WebEvents Orange County, an organization devoted to celebrating Orange
County’s online achievements.
“I’m really pleased with the turnout,”
Rubenstein said. “Orange County has such a fantastic Web community, and
everyone really rallied together in the spirit of WebEvents. I’m already
looking forward to next year.”
Proceeds will benefit Goodwill Industries
of Orange County
(www.ocgoodwill.org) and AnotheR BytE (www.recycles.org/byte), a
non-profit organization that recycles older computers nationwide for
organizations and individuals in need.
