Laura M. Liotta

Laura Mastrangelo Liotta is the
founder, president and chief executive officer of Sam Brown
Incorporated. She is responsible for all of the strategic
communications planning and the coordination/management of a network
of experts to ensure outstanding client service.
Laura has gained more than fourteen
years of experience in corporate communications, with specialized
expertise in pharmaceutical and biotechnology public and investor
relations.
Prior to founding Sam Brown, Laura
served as Vice President of Corporate Communications for VIMRX
Pharmaceuticals, now Nexell Therapeutics Inc., a leading cell
therapy biotechnology company. Managing all strategic tactical
public and investor relations programs, Laura directed corporate
image, media relations, product public relations, scientific
communications and employee communications for the biotechnology
company through its transition into a cell therapy business. She
served as lead strategic communications counsel, company
spokesperson, and member of the executive management team.
During her time with VIMRX, Laura
wrote and managed production of all disclosure and insider trading
policies, financial releases, conference calls, SEC financial
documents, interaction with NASDAQ, fielding investor calls, peer
targeting, road show presentations, and the development and
coordination of the company's annual meeting. Laura also created the

Prior to VIMRX, Laura spent five
years with The DuPont Merck Pharmaceutical Company (now DuPont
Pharmaceuticals) where she was responsible for external
communications for the $1.3 billion pharmaceutical joint venture.
Responsibilities included strategic
public relations planning and counseling, corporate media relations,
product public relations and worldwide crisis communications
planning. In addition to serving as company spokesperson and liaison
with external audiences, Laura directed and managed staff, budget,
and public relations agencies for all product public relations
programs and launches, with emphasis in the areas of cardiovascular
disease, nuclear medicine, alcoholism and Parkinson's disease.
She managed pre-launch public
relations programs for cancer and HIV research and handled
communications surrounding important issues such as pricing, safety
and environment, animal research, and relationships with patient
advocacy groups. Additional experience gained in executive speech
writing, federal government affairs, coalition building, media
training, internal communications writing, special event planning
and community relations.
In the beginning of her career, Laura
spent four years with two local Philadelphia advertising and public
relations agencies, where she served accounts including CoreStates
Financial Corp, Mettler Laboratories, CIBA Vision and Wyeth Ayerst
Laboratories.
Laura Liotta earned her Bachelors
Degree in Communications with a specialty in public relations from
Rowan University. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of
America (PRSA) and the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI).
